Scorpion S5+ Tracker with Immobilisation
The Scorpion S5+ is the S5 tracker with immobilisation added. It includes everything the S5-VTS provides: continuous monitoring, live tracking, journey history, vehicle management and ADR driver tags. It then adds two immobilisation features: automatic immobilisation linked to the driver tag, and remote restart prevention by Scorpion’s recovery team. OJB Autocare supplies and fits the S5+ and quotes it for each vehicle.
That makes it both a tracker and an immobiliser. The ‘plus’ is the package name, not a separate certification. Scorpion describes the S5+ as Thatcham S5, the same category as the standard S5-VTS.
How the immobilisation works
Automatic, tag-based immobilisation
With the feature fitted and armed, the vehicle needs a valid ADR tag present before it will start. You can arm or disarm it in the app, which is useful before a planned handover such as a service. When we hand the vehicle back, we’ll explain how and when it engages on your car.
Remote restart prevention
If the tag has been taken along with the keys, or automatic immobilisation hasn’t engaged, Scorpion’s recovery team can remotely prevent the engine from restarting. Scorpion describes this as restart prevention: it stops the engine being started again, rather than cutting it while the vehicle is being driven.

All three need an active Scorpion subscription for monitoring, alerts and app access. If you want monitored tracking with driver recognition, the S5-VTS covers that. Choose the S5+ if you also want the engine prevented from starting without a valid tag once the immobilisation is fitted and armed. The S5+ uses Scorpion’s own immobilisation, so it’s a different setup from pairing an S5-VTS with a separate Autowatch Ghost III immobiliser, which uses its own driver authorisation. We can quote either route.
Subscription and ownership
Like the rest of the range, the S5+ needs an active Scorpion subscription for monitoring, alerts and app access. Scorpion’s user guide states a twelve-month minimum term, and the installation certificate becomes available once the subscription is paid and activated. Lifetime cover is tied to your ownership of the subscribed vehicle and doesn’t transfer to another car or owner. The immobilisation features are there to help stop the engine being started by someone without a valid tag. If the vehicle is stolen, recovery depends on the circumstances and police resources and isn’t guaranteed.
Vehicle check and quote
Immobilisation affects whether the vehicle will start, so we confirm suitability for each vehicle before quoting. For electric and hybrid models in particular, we check the specific application rather than assume it will work. Send us your registration or make, model and year with your postcode. Your quote will confirm the S5+ package with immobilisation for your vehicle and the fitted price, with the subscription shown as a separate cost. Once suitability is confirmed, we fit at our appointment-only workshop in Pollington, DN14 0EA, or on a mobile visit if your postcode is within our Yorkshire coverage area.
